If you’re reading this, you’re probably a craft beer and/or whiskey fanatic. For most of you, your “free” time at work is spend trolling these here internets, looking for ways to explore your love of the fermented and the distilled. But that’s probably not all you are doing. Some of you probably have other obsessions that pull you away from the drudgery of daily life. For me, it’s beer, cars and NFL football, and maybe a bit of pop culture, in that order.

So...yeah...the..uhh..Bobs would like to chat about...uhhh...those beer sites you've been visiting...
I’ve already shared that I’m a creature of habit, and not a lunch hour goes by where I don’t hit my beer blogs, check out my car blogs (mostly insideline and autoblog) and then hit up the Rumor Mill on profootballtalk.com for the latest in NFL news. I might even stop by WhatWouldTylerDuredenDo or The Superficial for a dose of pop culture snark. It’s the most fun (and least productive) 20 minutes of the day.
That’s how I (blog)roll. How about you? What are the things besides beer and whiskey that keep your TPS reports from getting filed in a timely fashion?

I just drink.
Well that certainly keeps it simple, Daniel. Plus you have taps at work which makes it very convenient. Actually, you can call it “research!”
I take my work home with me for research.
You crack that growler?
Nope. I’m hanging with friends tonight, so it probably has seen its last dawn (well at least as much as you can see from a sealed fridge).
Be kind. Snap photos. Give words. Be honest…
Liquid Lunch is what made this country great!
I thought it was what made this country fat…
That too. The yin and yang of drinking.
Q: what time is it? A: about Ten Fidy. Time for lunch. http://t.co/YCi0yyq
NEED SOME TEN FIDY!!
Genealogy! I not only do my own family but do a lot of pro-bono (please no snarky comments Don) research for others.
That’s pretty cool, and disqualfyingly productive…
Working in Education kinda looks down at liquid lunches…and who just looks at this stuff on their lunch hour???
Besides beer blogs I tend to read the following…
My buddies running blogs.
Food blogs. Especially A Hamburger Today ( http://aht.seriouseats.com/ )
ESPN
theoatmeal.com
someecards.com (hilarity will ensue)
and my one vice, tmz.com
I want to punch TMZ in the face, so I don’t read it. But it’s a fine vice, I guess. Kind of like secretly drinking cosmos when you’re on vacation.
they were white russians!
So you were doing White Russians on vacation? Does your wife know? 🙂
The Oatmeal is awesome. Saw this today: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/wwddd
It’s 9:30 am in Denver and here I am, reading your post at work! In addition to this site, I frequently look at the Gawker family of websites (including Lifehacker, Gizmodo, Deadspin, etc.), ESPN (stupid NFL lockout), and MUBI, a film site.
I didn’t see Fleshbot on that list, Alex…that’s in the family, too!
Well, that goes without saying! 😉
Besides craft beer, it’s usually something about design since I can write that off as legitimate research, otherwise it’s hockey and to a lesser extent football. To get my snark fix, a little Bourdain helps. Neatorama also has some pretty cool stuff from around the interwebs.
Just checked out neatorama – it’s neat!
I’m not a very well-rounded person. If it’s not movies, baseball, or beer, it might as well be in a black hole for me.
So you surf movies, baseball, beer and what goes into black holes? Better have SafeSearch on for that one! 🙂
Those holes aren’t black, per se.
I recently found this fun little time-waster:

Hey Jim, check out onequickbeer.com for your snark…. I’m in the greater Cincinnati area and it’s a local blog… Usually has some funny and or interesting stuff on it… Cheers.
