Victory Brewing says Sam Adams Rumors are False

We don’t typically break news here, and in a way, the trend continues.  There’s nothing to see here folks.

There have been rumblings of late that The Boston Beer Company, the makers of Sam Adams, have been trying to purchase Victory Brewing Company.  It turns out the rumors are just that – rumors. I have it on good authority from Victory Brewing that the brewery is not for sale.

In fact they are thriving as one of the fastest growing independent breweries in the country, with 2010 wholesale shipments up 24% over last year.  To keep up with the growing demand, Victory is installing 8 new fermenters, boosting their production capability by 50%, to 100,000 barrels per year.  That’s a lot of tasty beer.

So while Victory Brewing might be an attractive acquisition target, The Boston Beer Company is not a suitor at this time.  So much for another Internet rumor.

I have also heard that a kid from a TV commercials ate Pop Rocks, drank a Pepsi and died, so expect another hard-hitting rumor report in the near future…

I thought Mikey did die from Pop Rocks explosions in the gut! BTW Jim, didn’t you crawl into that brew tank?

Yes, I crawled into the brew tank, but they just added 8 FERMENTATION tanks, which we didn’t crawl into.

You got it all wrong…the rumor was that ThankHeavenForBeer.com was going to purchase Victory. That’s a much more credible rumor.

Turns out it’s JUST AS credible!

I thought he died from spider eggs in the bubble gum. Turns out The Brew Club is buying THFB, who is purchasing Victory, but we’re keeping Nate on as the friendly faced spokesperson.

Very cool to see Victory is such a success!

But wasn’t The Brew Club just bought up by InBev?

I agree – I would be a bit bummed if it were real – that’s why I contacted Victory.
