Don’s traveling and I’m with the family at Great Wolf Lodge, where I paid $113 for a buffet and three Yeunglings for two adults and two kids. If I wasn’t sick before the very average buffalo chicken wraps, I sure was after the check came.
So Don and I are playing hooky from the blog today (unless you count this post, and based on length and content, I’m sure you won’t.
Your regularly scheduled beer and whiskey musings will resume tomorrow.
In the mean time, perhaps you can play a little hooky yourself. Have a beer with lunch or maybe leave work a little early. C’mon, all the cool kids are doing it! ๐
I’m also playing hooky. I’m using my day to re-watch “A Clockwork Orange” and make sure I still hate it.
Righty-right! Enjoy Alex and his druges!
I played hooky a few weeks back in that next of the woods. A little place called the Mt Airy Casino. Think about it.
Maybe next time without the little monkeys, Tricia. For some reason those stiffs won’t let them in the casino.
Cant play hooky today but you could say i had a beer at lunch. I made a batch of brownies for a company pot luck using Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout that everyone seemed to enjoy.
That sounds awesome, Scott. We posted a recipe here once for a chocolate and ginger stout cake (it called for Guinness but my wife used Storm King) and it was awesome.
Can you share a link to your brownie recipe? Is it on http://www.thebrewclub.com ?
Thanks for enabling my penchant for procrastination. I will surely put off something today so I can go enjoy an adult beverage this afternoon!
That’s the spirit, Chad. I know how hard it is to twist your arm and point you to Brewforia for a lunch-on-tap. ๐
No time for hooky. But I will be drinking something crafty tonight as a nightcap. There is not better way to unwind.
I agree with that, Adam! I have my
Sunday shows waiting on the DVR and a bunch of goodies waiting in the fridge.
It’s good to be home!
I got dragged there a few years ago and refused to eat at the Lodge. We actually found a decent brew pub in Tannersville (the name ecsapes me but look it up if you need safe haven).
Unfortunately we went to the brew pub up the road with awful food, high prices and glacial service. But they did have Bell’s Kalamazoo Stout on tap and the Jets game on the TV so it all worked out.
