I’m Going to Milwaukee: What Should I Drink?

C'mon, Milwaukee, you can do better than THIS!!

One of the coolest (and most frustrating) things about craft beer is how regional the industry is.  Not everything is available everywhere, so you have to make the most of your opportunities while traveling.

I’m headed off to Milwaukee soon to visit The Beer & Whiskey Parents, and I’d love to hear suggestions about which breweries to visit and which beers to seek out.

Right now I’m planning to visit Lakefront Brewing, possibly hitting them at week’s end to enjoy a Milwaukee tradition – the Friday night fish fry.  I’m also gonna pick up some stuff from New Glarus, as they are hard to find outside of Wisconsin, and try to get my hands of some Bell’s, which we don’t get here in New Jersey.  I figure Wisconsin is so close to Michigan, that Bell’s probably sends their goodies west across the lake.

And that’s all I have planned.  If you’re familiar with what the MKE has to offer, let me know what to look out for.  I’d hate to miss something awesome just because I don’t know about it.

OK, that’s great and all for you, but is this going to delay the release of the next podcast? Have fun and don’t go killing a hooker or anything out there!

Gee Brandon, Jim isn’t really into Whore tipping, so he should be safe! Jim has assured me that he is editing the next podcast as we speak, and it should be out by the end of the week! Glad to know that someone is listening… 😉

It’s a good thing he’s not in to Whore Tipping. It’s quite an addictive sport from what I hear (I swear, never tried it). It almost was made an event at the X-Games this year.

You mean the XXX-Games, right? 😉

That’s the kind of can-kinda-do spirit that makes America great!

Heh, actual past branding wizardry a la me are my roommate’s first brew – a fine amber called Amber Alert – and his second that turned a little foul – Summer’s Brew (Summer’s Eve label, revisited). The Summer’s Brew had a bit of a yeast infection…or so we thought. My internet is probably monitored.

If your Internet’s not monitored it should be.

And I’ve tried Summer’s Eve and recall it being sour. Of course I was a kid and it was in the shower, so maybe that affected the taste. I dunno.

Ahh, Central Waters is new to me. Thanks for the tip!
