Well, the 4th is over and it is time to pay the piper! Too much fun and jocularity have given way to things that need to be accomplished around the house! This weekend will include trying to fix my Kitchen sink, filling our pool which finally got fixed today, and doing domestic type stuff like grocery shopping and dress shopping for my wife who needs a dress for an upcoming wedding. Lots of things to do and take care of around the old homestead.
Not a lot of fun, but it has to happen especially when things were kind of put off while we enjoyed the holiday. Jim and I will also be trying to work the bugs out of this podcast technology so we might begin our reign of audio terror on the internet! But that won’t stop me from drinking my share of good libations. I’m thinking I might tackle a few IPAs, or even a black IPA I have in the old beer bunker. I might even try a Stout, just to see what it is like during a summer month.
How about you? Any projects that need to be tackled in your domicile? Will you too be partaking in order to make it more palatable? What will you be hitting? Let us know what is in your lineup for this weekend. As usual give us your feedback in the comments and have a great weekend whatever you are doing!
-Don and Jim.
I went beer shopping this week and wound up blowing $200 on beer. I don’t have a drinking problem, but I do have a beer buying addiction!
Oh well. I share my beer and I figure it’ll all go eventually, and now I’m always finding stuff in my garage that I don’t remember buying. It the best kind of surprise. Besides, now I have enough beer to wait out the rest of the Great Recession.
Last night I had a Weyerbacher 15, a smoked imperial porter. It was all bacon in the first sip and then once my palate adjusted, there was a world of wonderful flavors swirling beneath the smoke. I’ll be dipping into that again this weekend.
I also got a 12 pack of Oskar Blues Old Chub – man is that good stuff. I’l be switching between that and Dale’s at the lake tonight.
Have fun dress shopping, Don!
I know all about the beer buying problem. Again, I think I’m going to drink some homebrew. I’m going to schedule a brew for this or next week. Can’t wait. I think when I visit Idaho, I’m going to bring some stuff to Don (when you visit or he sends you some stuff, maybe he’ll send some homebrew).
I look forward to trying your stuff, Mike. I might brew this weekend, too, but I’ve been saying that for a few weeks now.
yeah like 8 weeks…
My fiance is demanding I drive her to Skookum Brewery out in the woods in Arlington, WA. I figured I might as well oblige
I’m also brewing the last 3 of our 8 beers to be served at our wedding over the next 4 days
Hey Evan:
Sounds like a good weekend plan, albeit a little laborious brewing all that beer in just 4 days. Have a great weekend!
