Whatcha Drinking this Weekend?: Daylight Savings Time Edition

It seems extremely early this year, but Sunday at 2am is that magical moment where we trick mother nature into giving us one more hour of daylight each day.  The price we pay for this is a hefty one – an hour less in our weekends.  What’s worse, an hour less to enjoy our favorite adult beverages.

There’s two ways I can see to approach it.  Either make up for lost time by leaning towards whiskey or high ABV brews, or play it like a responsible grown up and go light on Saturday night so Sunday doesn’t come to quickly for your booze addled brain.  Of course you could just ignore it and do what you usually do, which will probably work, too.

For me, it’s going to be shootout weekend.  I have Founders KBS and Oak Aged Coffee Yeti in the fridge – who will win the crown of supreme barrel aged coffee stout?  I also have Founders Old Curmudgeon Ale and some Weyerbacher Insanity – which is the best barrel aged ale?  And I have some Knob Creek to help ensure I don’t remember the answers and have to do it all again another time. 🙂

So how about you?  Any grand plans for the weekend that involve whiskey, beer or even *gasp* wine?  Are joining our pals over at Thank Heaven For Beer for their Sip With Us Saturday?  Anyone brewing their own or enjoying the fruits of their obsession?  Let us know below!

Happy Daylight savings time Guys. Yeah, one less hour of sleep! UGH… But all is not lost especially if you are at my FLying Dog tasting on Sat afternoon. 8 flying Dog beers including Raging Bitch, and two surprise retired Wild Dog Series beers.

I also have a shit load of beer to bottle.

Have fun at your tasting, Peter – those are always a great way to explore new beers while having a good time.

Quick question on bottling; what do you add for carbonation? Table sugar, corn sugar, specialty stuff? Just curious anout what you think is best.

Peter, I know what you mean. I’ve got 17 gallons of stuff to deal with.

I never thought I would have a review up on THFB before I had a review of the Stagg to put up on Beer and Whiskey. 😉
