Looks good! Oskar Blues will enter into the 16 oz tallboy cans with their first run of Deviant Dales IPA. This IPA uses Dale’s pale ale as their base then dry hops the shit out of it 4 different times during the brewing process, and then again at the end when it goes into the fermentor.
Looks like this will ship next month. We have been told that here in Idaho we will again be getting Oskar Blues cans onto the local shelves. I can only hope this makes it too! This big guy comes in at 8% ABV so it is a bit smaller than the Gubna, but it does pack a whollup. Dave over at Fermentedly Challenged has a nice write up, as he was sent a sample. See that here.
Jim is going to have to teach his 10 year old son to drive him home from the lake this summer!
Why do you think I’ve had him playing Forza since he was four, Don? 😉
I love it when a plan comes together!
Ah, now this is one that’ll go great w/ the Maryland steamed crabs this summer…or right after I’ve finished mowing and don’t want to do anything else for the rest of the daze (uh..I mean day.)
Sounds like your summer plans are all set. Now just got to get some! Still don’t know about distribution. Havn’t heard how far or wide it will go out.
How do you dry hop something during the brewing process? I’d always thought that dry-hopping was done after fermentation was finished.
I probably said hat wrong. Look on the Fermentedly Challenged site for specifics. Anyway they put a ton of hops in the stuff and make it gooooooood!
I cant wait!
I just had Oskar Blues HGH (Home Grown Hops) the other night at Old Chicago’s. A rep was there and he told me they are shipping Deviant Dales out March 1st.
The HGH has a great story behind it too. They use hops grown on farm very close to the brewery.
