Brew Dog Gets Their Pirate On!

The latest marketing gimmic (their words) from Brew Dog.  This is a 7.1% ABV IPA that was fermented at the bottom of the North Sea.  Cool label art, and something I would be very interested of which to take a taste!  Anyway I thought the video was fun, and full of Brew Dog’s style of irreverent humor.  Enjoy!

I thought we were done with Brewdog. First Jim tells me we’re 28th! in beer consumption here in Illinois and then you throw up a Brew Dog post. Some days I wonder why I read you guys…

They are nothing if not controversial, even between the Beer and Whiskey Bros!

That was my thought, and I actually thought it was a creative and fun idea. Not just a “complete” gimmic.

There might be something to be said for brewing in a microclimate like the bottom of the North Sea–guess we’ll have to wait for the reviews.

As for using rum in the mix, many of the Colonial small beers were made using molasses (the source of rum) so this is not entirely a new wrinkle. Don’t know anything about Buckweed.

Buckweed is mostly stems and seeds…

Anybody know what this is going for? Some of their prices are ridiculous.

I don’t know, but judging from the video it looks like a very limited release. Probably in the $30-$50 range would be my guess. But that is a complete guess.

Sunken brewed, orbitally kreusened and ancient barrell aged limited release!!!! ALL I WANT IS GOOD BEER AVAILABLE TO DRINK. I’m tired. Tired of gimmicks and Tired of overpaying for beer and tired of it not being available when I choose to overpay. Now I’m tired of hearing me complain. Keep up the good work gentlemen and I’ll just have to learn to let it go. I could really go for a pirate shirt!
