- The world’s most giant Urinal. This picture doesn’t do it justice, but this was like peeing into a sarcophagus. And count them! That is seven urinal cakes in the bottom!

The Cows of New Glarus. Looks like this town puts out cows like Chicago puts out bulls or St. Paul puts out Snoopy's as public art. Here are a few. This one was in front of the candy shop.

This cow was out in front of a store that sold Swiss goods, and obviously Swiss Army knives too. This cow was scary.

The Brew Kettles...Pretty.

Brewer's are Yeast Pimps...I want a tee shirt that says this.
And now you’ve just had the exact brewery tour experience Don and I enjoyed, without the beer samples (which is really the whole point).
I want to go on record as saying that we had to pay for the samples, making them less than samples, and a lot more like paid for beers. It was $3.50 for three 3 0z samples, and no on your honor here, no no, they gave you a bracelet with three tags on it, you know like the kind you might get at a hospital. On the up side you got to keep your tiny glass, and it did have the New Glarus logo etched into it, so that was cool.
So when I go to Lake Geneva in two weeks should I go to New Glarus and ask for free beer?
I dunno, just know that all the unlimited samples I wanted were free after the Deschutes Brewery tour.
Thanks for the enlightening brewery tour – pipes, tanks and more pipes oh my! Love the cows, especially the chef cow. That would be an awesome shirt idea:)
Yeah, the Chef Cow was my favorite. I loved how it has the red kerchief around its neck!
I grew up in Madison. I’ve made an annual pilgrimage to Wisconsin each of the last six years to drink their beer. I even moved back to Madison after college (in Missouri). And I have never been to the New Glarus Brewery. In fact, the only time I’ve even been to New Glarus was on some goofy family trip when I was 11 and the only thing I remember from it was eating some really good cheese (imagine that) and some women wearing goofy Swiss Miss-style outfits.
I am extremely jealous.
