Thank god it’s Friday, and even better, I have the day off! I intend to spend it exerting the least amount of effort possible, starting with this blog post. The upside is it’ll be an easy read. The downside is you have to help out here.
A couple of weeks ago I did a post about my lunchtime web browsing habits, and a few of you chimed in with fun sites of your own. There was a What Would Don Draper Do flowchart, a snarky ecard site, and the laugh-out-loud hilarious Animals Being Dicks. I quickly realized that there’s a great untapped resource of timewasting energy to be had here.
So I’m asking you to do your part to help your fellow B&WB readers pass the time until it’s beer o’clock. Please share any funny or cool or mildly disturbing links you love in the comments. Try and not post any Not Safe For Work links, but if you must (quality is quality after all) please mark them so no one gets fired.
Here’s a beer-related one to get you started (and to keep this post from being entirely off-topic). If you haven’t fooled around with Pintley’s beer selection database, you’re missing out!
Have a great Friday – it’ll be over soon!!

Very helpful, Zac.

There’s usually at least one thing here that makes me laugh (though I try hard to avoid the cute kitty cat crap):
http://pleated-jeans.com/
As a movie nerd, I find this site highly addictive:

Can’t go wrong with the extremely bizarre “Selleck Waterfall Sandwich” site:

I wasted an hour when I discovered this movie cinematograph site:

I like to waste a lot of time.
http://www.lamebook.com I waste hours on there frequently, it should at least be good for 10 minutes of wasted time.
Jimbo!
Here’s the link to a great article from the New York Times about the Shackleton whisky. The link was Tweeted by Richard Paterson of Whyte & Mackay, the people that are releasing a 2011 version of this whisky. It’s a great read.

Enjoy your day off and stay cool. Gonna be a scorcher!
Cheers!

I’m getting ready to leave on a road trip this afternoon. We’re headed to a family reunion in Alabama and to make the trip more fun we’re trying BBQ in all the big cities we’ll be driving through – Kansas City, St Louis, Memphis, and Nashville.
When in STL, if you’re looking for BBQ, Pappy’s is a must. There are plenty of other decent BBQ places but Pappy’s is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Fair warning, though- get there early because the lines are extremely long (as in, out the door). If you get there at around 11, you should be fine. Also, it may not be as bad this time of year because the SLU kids are all at home (it’s very close to SLU).
http://www.adamatomic.com/canabalt/ is a very simple, but incredibly addicting game. You have been warned.

You’ll thank me and curse me at the same time.
Cheers!

And again!

Great stuff gang. No one’s getting anything done today!
You can say that again.
