Don and I had the chance to rub elbows with some of the best-known and best-loved brewers in America this weekend. One of the cool things about being a beer fan is accessibility – you get to meet your heroes.
And that what Don and I did. But instead of getting a photo WITH them like everyone else, we had them take OUR picture!! Here’s the results:
Love it! Great photos, guys! Wish I’d gotten to meet you both!
Thanks, Amie. It would’ve been great to meet you as well. I think we missed a bunch of folks this weekend.
Seiously one of the funniest things I’d heard in a long time – thanks for being ‘original’
Greg’s face when we asked was precious. He was absolutely dumbfounded that we didn’t need him in the pic. Then he went ahead and did it anyway! I’m guessing we’re the first people to ever ask him to take their picture.
Do you think he’d do the same thing if he was on vacation in Paris and some tourist asked him to take their picture in front of the Eiffel Tower? “Why is that angry man’s head in our picture?!”
Good job, guys. I should have been there…
It would’ve been great to see you, Daniel. Maybe next year if you can keep from breaking any of your parts for 12 months!
That’s what she said.
awesome idea! looks like a good time was had, love the T’s by the way!
Thanks, Paulette. Don’s turned out fine, but my hop and the text was waaay too big! It says “Hop Hearted” and the hop is supposed to cover my heart. It turned out so big, I had to tell folks I had an enlarged heart – that or my hop was retaining water.
Jim, did you notice that Dave from Drunken Polack was in the picture Greg took? Hope we don’t have to get his permission to post this!
I did notice, but the caption was running long, so I didn’t point it out. My captions are always running long…
Love the idea guys. When I saw you do this with Greg I thought it was his idea. Good stuff.
Greg would never think to take a picture without him in it, Dave!
love it! I guess Sam found his calling with brewing, I don’t think he could’ve made it as a photographer.
My thoughts exactly Elena! I said to Jim, he did the worst of all (he was also the drunkest) but when Jim saw the photo was centered on him he said “I think they look fine”. What an attention hog!
Ha ha. I don’t think Sam was drunk, I just think he was high on attention. He was juggling like four groups of admirers.
But, yeah, I thought the framing was fine!
Don says he could either be a brewer or a television evangelist. I could see him doing well either way!
Great stuff guys! I bet they will all actually remember you! 🙂
Maybe. But they met thousands of people last week. Sam Calagione is now in 17% of all Facebook profile pics! I might’ve made that up, but you get the idea.
Jim, Glad you noticed the facebook profile pic trend as well. I’ve been seeing the same thing over the last couple days and it lead me to the conclusion that you should let me use the picture I took of YOU for MY facebook profile pic! Anyway, great meeting you guys! Had a blast!
Yeah, it looks like a pic with Sam or Greg for Facebook is a souvenir everyone brought home, along with a tasting glass and a hangover.
You’re welcome to use our pics, but folk will wonder why you have two men and a giant cock (painting) for your profile pic!
Anyway, great to meet you both this weekend and congrats on the bronze. Hopefully it’s just a sign of things to come.
For some reason I became suddenly hungry for corn, hops, and “angry face.”
Seriously, loved this guys…it was a pleasant break from the standard “we just got back from GABF” post.
Jim came up with the idea, but was going to chicken out. I made him ask Greg, and the rest just fell into place.
If that’s how you remember it, Don, that’s fine. Even if it’s true. 🙂
