I was thinking about our latest podcast – the one we posted on Friday – and by far the best part is “Fun Facts with Don and Jim,” where we tell embarrassing stories about each other. It was recorded with Don at his house and me visiting our folks’ place in Milwaukee. Our two sisters were in Milwaukee as well, so I decided to pull a fast one on Don.
You see, our sister Wendi was Don’s nemesis growing up. She’s five years older than him and far craftier to boot, and he suffered many indignities at her hands over the years. So when it came time to record “Fun Facts,” I handed the mic over to Wendi and she told a great story of how she totally freaked out Don when he was a little boy. It involved a tape recorder, monster sounds and a water gun. you can find it about two-thirds of the way through – I think it’s hilarious.
Yeah, fun for you…I was the one terrorized. We needed Homeland Security when I was growing up! For sure!
Not really fun for me. As you said in the podcast, it all rolls down hill and I suffered at your hands because of what Wendi did to you. Good times.
So what software do you guys use to record the ol podcast?
We connect through Skype, record split-channel with the Pamela add-on and then edit with Audacity. We also use Logitech mics, which are easy to use and cheap, but are starting to get under my skin.
Nice, sounds like an inexpensive setup. Sounds fine too! When is podcast 5 coming out?
As soon as I edit it, probably Monday. That’s if it turned out – we recorded it live at Brewforia in Boise on Sunday and had four guys sharing one mic in a busy beer market. I think it’ll be fine, but who knows…
I asked Jim that very question myself Brandon! Today is a matter of fact ( that is when I asked the question, not when Podcast 5 is coming out). He said he has been busy with trivial things like Weddings and Anniversaries and such. You know small stuff that he should ignore to crank out the podcast for our fans. 😉
Jim is very generous when he says “We”. I know nothing. Is a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that Jim would have upgraded mics by now, but he knows that I need the Fischer Price version.
My First Microphone with built in sing-along songs by The Little People.
Would really help me kill time in traffic today if it was done by 5pm pst. 😉
Now I’ll never hear the end of it from Don!!
