It’s the Weekend – Whatcha Having?!

Schlitz Pumpkin

It’s been a gnarly week and I’m glad it’s over! I’ve got a few treats (and probably a couple of tricks) in the fridge for this weekend and can’t wait to get started. I’m gonna begin with the basics; a couple of devilish Stone selections and then maybe a Dogfish Head Pangea. What about you?  Are you carving through some Pumpkin beers? Hoisting some homebrews? Obliterating the Oktoberfests?  Hittin’ the hard sauce? Let us know in the posts!

I’ve been hanging onto a beer called Leafer Madness! It is a fresh hopped IPA from a little brewery in Ontario Oregon. Pop in that town is about 12,000 so it might be interesting. Looking forward to it. Oh By the way i read where if you have fresh hopped beers you should drink them before they are more than 3 months old, otherwise they begin to deteriorate in the bottle!

I also have a few new bourbons to try, and I will probably get to one of them this weekend!

    Have a great one!

Out with Jennifer tonight – starting at a local place (Los Gatos Brewing Company) – they have a nice Octoberfest and a cask conditioned british ale (bitter) currently on tap. Then off to some sushi and most likely a Kirin Ichiban….
Not sure about the rest of the weekend yet…

Sounds like a great start, Jeff. I just cracked open a Southern Tier Unearthly IPA and I’m in heaven. So much for my plan to start with a Stone! This IPA tastes like a blend of Stone IPA and Dogfish Head 60. In other words, a truly wonderful way to start the weekend. Not sure if Southern Tier is available in CA, but if you can find one, grab it.

      Have a great weekend.

I’m going to have Stone’s Pale Ale for our Sip with Us Saturday. Tonight I’m drinking a double chocolate stout home brew. I may finally open an Oat Goop, which is a Three Floyds and Mikkeller collaboration. I’m thirsty now.

‘Oat Goop’…love it. It must be fun coming up with names for these beers. Kinda like the people who come up with the funny names (or so I’ve heard) for porno. Very creative minds @ work.

For me, I finally had my Southern Tier Pumking. Not too bad, but I’m finding I’m generally not a fan of Imperial beers. Also, I am officially sick of Pumpkin Ales.

    Carry on.
