…a fella named Andrew DeCaluwe from Mount Prospect, Illinois. He tops the list of The National Beer Pong* League’s new ranking system, boasting the highest score of over 2,400 ranked players from around the world. While I’m no fan of beer pong*, I have to admit the NBP*L has built a slick little mousetrap here.

I’ve recently read a lot of predictions for the coming year and I keep asking myself “how the hell do THEY know what’s going to happen?” I certainly don’t, so instead of predicting the good and the bad that 2012 will bring to the craft beer world, I’ve decided to share six things I hope […]

All good things have to come to and end, and to be honest, I’m thankful it is so. I’m not sure I could survive another day of freewheeling holiday fun without exploding. I feel like I’m a “wafer thin mint” away from going out like dear Mr. Creosote from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life!

Let me begin this post by saying I am in no way complaining! I had an absolutely wonderful Christmas this year, which was hard to believe given all the current challenges my family currently faces. It was great. We opened gifts, truly enjoyed each other’s company and with the exception of an overdone beef roast […]

It’s been a pretty amazing year in these parts. We’ve shined a light on the unfair treatment of a teacher, exposed a “Big Beer” troll trying to pull a fast one, and we even managed to break a news story or two. I’ve compiled a list of our top seven stories from the past year, […]

With New Years Eve rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about which beer you’ll pop open when the clock strikes midnight. Some traditionalists might say that New Year’s is a champagne-only holiday, but I left the bubbly behind years ago and celebrate the start of a new year with a good beer. But it […]

The Abyss is a strange and wonderful world. It is full of magical and mystical creatures and all sorts of wonder and amazement. Ask any Marine Biologist and they will tell you that we know almost nothing about the wonders this briny deep has hidden in the blackness. So too was my first impression of Deschutes Brewing […]

Mike Esterl of the The Wall Street Journal recently posted an interview with MillerCoors Chief Executive Tom Long where they touched upon many subjects, including a new aluminum can Miller Lite will be launching this spring that has two openings; one for drinking and one that allows air into the can so the beer flows […]

Well this happened. Bonfire Brewing in Eagle Colorado has decided to name its American-style barleywine after everyone’s favorite good Christian boy, Tim Tebow. And that totally makes sense – name a high-ABV beer after a devout Christian who abstains from alcohol. Sure. Perfect sense.

I know I’ve beaten this reindeer to death, but I like my holiday brews to taste like “Christmas” to me. Many of our readers disagree, saying that they can take only so many winter warmers until they get bored and long for holiday seasonals that break the mold a bit. While I could happily drink […]

Say what you will about the online antics of Ashley Rouston (A.K.A. The Beer Wench), but you can’t argue with her success or her work ethic – the girl is all hustle and knows how to play the game. She’s long been out front on the craft beer social media scene and has worked it […]

In Alaska, sometimes weird things happen. Take for example the case of Clifton Vial, a guy from Nome Alaska. He was out driving one day, and suddenly found himself and his Toyota Tacoma pickup stuck about 40 miles north of Nome Alaska. For those of you not familiar with the wilds of Alaska 40 miles […]
