As you may have read, Don and I have scrapped our GABF plans this year and are selling off our tickets to the Pints for Prostates Rare Beer Tasting, probably the best event of the festival.
It truly sucks that we won’t be out there this year, but life sometimes gets in the way of even the best laid plans.
But just because we’re not attending, that doesn’t mean you guys and gals won’t be there. I thought it might be nice to give you folks a forum to discuss your GABF plans and maybe even meet up in Denver. I’ll warn you though – people are always more attractive and witty on the Internet, except for me – I’m even better in person if you can believe it 😉
Anyway, feel free to share your plans below, and if you’re going to Denver, be sure to hoist one for the Bros!
.
.
I’ll be at the Pints for Prostates event with a couple of friends on Friday, enjoying beers that Jim and Don will never, ever get to taste. Ever. 😉
After that, the plan is probably to get some substantial food to mitigate the effects of the Rare Beer tasting; I’d love to get together with any other members of the B&WB commentariat then. I’ll probably stay away from downtown on Saturday, but that’s not iron-clad.
I’ll be at P for P as well, hopefully we can hook up seeings how we’re the two main Denver commenters. The wife and I will be going to GABF on Thursday night, after that don’t know. Got info and saw the other day that the Summit on 19th & Blake will be a ginormous beer garden during GABF, probably hoping to get the overflow from Falling Rock.
SO the only readers who are going LIVE in Denver?! C’mon people!!
I’m glad all we have to pay for is the tickets. Airfare and lodging add up, in this economy I can see where some would be willing to come, but can’t afford it.
It would be great to meet some of the other B&WB readers who come in for the Fest, just drop me a line through my blog.
Yeah, it would be pretty pathetic if me missed each other! I didn’t hear that about the Summit; it should help with some of the peak-time congestion downtown.
Ever? 😦
Arriving on Wednesday morning, checking into The Oxford, immediately going to Falling Rock for a Pliny the Elder. Brewers’ Gathering Wednesday evening at Wynkoop. More than likely hitting up Great Divide around lunch Thursday, followed by GABF and then the Avery Brewing Midnight Breakfast at Euclid Hall at 11pm. Pouring at Pints for Prostates Denver Rare Beer Tasting III, then Friday evening GABF session. Possibly hitting up Bull and Bush Friday evening for a late dinner. Saturday morning session of GABF, followed by some of the evening session (but I’m out before it turns into a sh*tshow). Sunday will be spent entirely at Falling Rock, watching football and drinking beer.
I’m jealous of just about every word you typed there, Rob.
It’s my big beer-related trip of the year, have to go all out!
Rob wins.
I arrive Friday and heading to Boulder. Heading to the Brewers portion from 12-4 and then probably trying some bars out with the Missus. We are going to be with another couple, so my best chances to meet up are at the fest. Look for a young strapping lad with a beer. I’m bringing some homebrew as well for the weekend.
Heading there from LA with a fellow beer nerd. We get in Thursday night and will probably hit up a couple of local brew pubs to sample some of Colorado’s finest brews, as our plan at the GABF sessions is to only sample stuff we can’t get in SoCal. Got tickets to Friday and Saturday sessions.
So far no concrete plans for the time before/after sessions, so any suggestions are welcome! This will be my first time at GABF and my first time in Denver, so I am super excited!
Contact me through my Brew Trek blog or Facebook page and I can point you to some new and great smaller brewers in and around downtown. Enjoy Denver!
I’ll be here in Maine. DX
Finally! Someone further away than me!
My girl will be in town…and my cellar will be raided…loads of Dogfish Head…including a bottle of Bitches Brew…some Life and Limb…and some Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch. 😉
Sounds like you won’t be suffering…much!
love to be there, too bad I won’t be able to make it
At least you can blame the whole other-side-of-the-world thing!
I’ve just setup a post to try and get all of the B&WB fans together at GABF. Let me know on the Brew Trek blog your schedules and preferences and I’ll try to arrange for a gathering.
